| What is Clutter Clearing? |
Why Clear Clutter?
Clutter is regarded as stuck energy. It can make you tired, lethargic and confused. When you clear it out, you can increase energy and obtain peace and clarity.
Clutter can tie you to the past, and make you procrastinate. When you clear you open new opportunities.
Clutter can cost money! Because of clutter you can miss due dates on bills, or conversely, opportunities that come in the mail, or that you may otherwise act on in a timely fashion. You may pay more for storage. And you may buy items more than once (flashlights, batteries, spices, cleaning supplies…) because you can’t find them in the clutter!
Clearing clutter can save, or even earn you money.
Having clutter can cause disharmony, and make you feel ashamed. When you clear, people may treat you better because you are treating yourself better.
Having clutter can make you clean more, be disorganized, and even create household hazards!
Clutter can conceal what is really troubling you, or what you really wish to be doing.
Moving through it can truly create a new life.

FENG SHUI ASPECTS OF CLUTTER CLEARING
'The bagua' -- notice which areas of your home are most cluttered—this can be helpful in determining where
to put the most emphasis, depending on which areas of your life need the most attention.
Room by room plan:
The entryway—chi enters the home here. Make sure it is open (no stacks of clutter!), not blocked by furniture, inviting and well lit; fix broken doorbells, numbers, etc., sweep entry way. Keep hall closet neatly organized, have a convenient place for keys, gloves, etc.
The living room—your social life. Make sure the couch does not have its back to the entry, try to have all
furniture facing entry and each other. Various forms of lighting to accommodate reading, socializing, etc.
The kitchen—your wealth area—cook something on the stove each day, keep all appliances well functioning,
bright lighting, keep entrances clear (and cupboards and drawers).
The dining room—your social life and finances together. Keep the dining room table clean! Repair broken
furniture, try to keep everyone facing the entry. Avoid arguments over dinner, as well as television and other distractions.
The bedroom—your private life, love life and health (rejuvenation). Clear passageways to enter, position
the bed away from the door but with a clear view of it, don’t store items under the bed (if necessary, only
sheets or towels), repair broken furnishings to prevent breaks in relationships, have appropriate lighting to
suit various moods.
The bathroom—your cleansing area. Keep it clean and orderly; keep the toilet lid, and the door if possible,
closed (so your finances are washed away), repair water leaks, and install adequate lighting for balance.
The office—your career and finances. Place the desk so you can see front door clearly, but not in front.
Install bright, cheerful lighting.
Eliminate clutter!
