| Ms.
Levitt is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who received
her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Northwestern
University. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Developmental
Psychology from Columbia University, where she specialized
in developmental issues of childhood and adolescence.
A significant part of Ms.
Levitt's training and experience has been in working with
individuals whose lives have been affected by trauma and abuse.
Ms. Levitt recognizes the importance of building a therapeutic
relationship based on compassion, respect, and collaboration.
She completed advanced training
in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) (See What
is DBT?) at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. DBT
seeks to empower survivors and enhance their quality of living
by providing skills training in areas such as relationship
effectiveness, emotion regulation, and mindfulness.
Ms. Levitt also has experience
working with body image and eating disorders, sexual identity
and coming-out issues, depression, and anxiety. She welcomes
clients from diverse backgrounds and works within a framework
that is lifestyle and choice supportive. |
