Cindy Baleskie
Cindy is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a background in teaching Middle and High School. She received her Master's of Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2011 from the George Washington University in Washington, DC, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Secondary Education from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Cindy uses warmth, science, and a sense of humor to create a safe and nonjudgmental space for her clients to learn about themselves and to practice new, healthy ways of approaching life. While Cindy works with a broad range of mental health concerns, some of the clients she especially enjoys supporting include:
New parents struggling during the postpartum period and early childhood years
Individuals who struggle with chronic suicidal thoughts and/or self-sabotaging behaviors, using a trauma lens and DBT-informed therapy
Family members of individuals with significant mental health challenges, including parents of high-risk children needing support in navigating the mental healthcare system
LGBTQ+ individuals, including transgender clients seeking support during transition
Trauma, grief, and treatment-resistant issues using Brainspotting, a mindfulness-based approach to reprocessing difficult memories
Perfectionism, giftedness, and challenges with academic or social skills
